This is Insight’s widest Kenya road circuit and the one that mixes in activities other than game drives. Amboseli opens the week with two nights and a climb up Observation Hill. Lake Naivasha adds a boat safari past hippos and a walking safari on Crescent Island. The fourth day is the most varied: a bicycle safari through the canyons of Hell’s Gate, and a choice between Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria for flamingos, before continuing to Nakuru for rhino, pelican and colobus. The trip finishes with two days in the Masai Mara, including a full day shaped around whatever the guest most wants to see, and returns to Nairobi around 4:30pm on day seven. No price is published.

Day 1
Nairobi to Amboseli
A 7:30am pickup and the drive south along the Nairobi to Mombasa highway, watching for Kilimanjaro on the approach. Lunch at the lodge, then an afternoon game drive for elephant, buffalo, big cats and birdlife.

Day 2
Full day in Amboseli
An early game drive in the morning light, then more of the park including Observation Hill for the views over the marshes and their birdlife. Further game drives after lunch.

Day 3
Amboseli to Lake Naivasha
A morning game drive, then the drive via Nairobi and the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. A boat safari past hippos and shoreline antelope and giraffe, and a guided walking safari on Crescent Island.

Day 4
Naivasha, Hell's Gate and Nakuru
A bicycle safari through the canyons of Hell's Gate among buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope, with a choice of Lake Nakuru or Lake Bogoria for flamingos, then on into Lake Nakuru National Park for rhino, pelican and colobus.

Lake Nakuru to the Masai Mara
A morning birding walk and game drive at Nakuru, then the drive into Maasai country with a lunch stop. An afternoon game drive on arrival in the Mara.

Full day in the Masai Mara
A full day shaped around what you most want to see, with the guide tailoring the routes. If the timing is right, the wildebeest and zebra crossings at the Mara River and the crocodiles and big cats waiting for them.

Day 7
Mara to Nairobi
An early game drive before breakfast, then the drive back to Nairobi, arriving around 4:30pm for a drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
